Yoga through meditation works amazingly to achieve harmony and helps the mind work in synchronization with the body. How often do we find that we are unable to perform our activities properly and in a satisfying manner because of the confusions and conflicts in our mind weigh down heavily upon us?

Stress is the number one suspect affecting all parts of our physical, endocrinal and emotional system. And with the help of yoga this things can be corrected.

At the physical level, yoga and its cleansing practices have proven to be extremely effective for various disorders.

Listed below are just some of the benefits of yoga that you can get.

1. Yoga is known to increase flexibility and suppleness; yoga has postures that trigger the different joints of the body. Including those joints that are not acted upon with regular exercises routines.

2. Yoga also increases the lubrication of joints, ligament and tendons. The well-researched yoga positions exercise the different tendons and ligaments of the body.

It has also been found that the body which may have started doing yoga being a rigid one may experience a quite remarkable flexibility in the end on those parts of the body which have not been consciously worked upon.

3. yoga also massages all organs of the body. Yoga is perhaps the only exercise that can work on through your internal organs in a thorough manner, including those that hardly get externally stimulated during our entire lifetime.

4. Yoga acts in a wholesome manner on the various body parts. . This stimulation and massage of the organs in turn benefits us by keeping away disease and providing a forewarning at the first possible instance of a likely onset of disease or disorder.

One of the far-reaching benefits of yoga is the uncanny sense of awareness that it develops in the practitioner of an impending health disorder or infection.

This in turn enables the person to take pre-emptive corrective action

5. yoga offers a complete detoxification of the body. It gently stretches the muscles and joints as we;; as massaging the various organs, yoga ensures the optimum blood supply to various parts of the body.

This helps in the flushing out of toxins from every nook and cranny of your body as well as providing nourishment up to the last point. This leads to benefits such as delayed ageing, energy and a remarkable zest for life.

6. yoga is also an excellent way to tone your muscles. Muscles which have been flaccid and weak are stimulated repeatedly to shed excess fats and flaccidity.

But these enormous physical benefits are just a ’side effect’ of this powerful practice. What yoga does is harmonize the mind with the body and these results in real quantum benefits.

It is now an open secret that the will of the mind has enabled people to achieve extraordinary physical feats, which proves beyond doubt the mind and body connection.

In fact yoga is equal to meditation, because both work together in achieving the common goal of unity of mind, body and spirit which can lead to an experience of eternal bliss that you can only feel through yoga.

The meditative practices through yoga help in achieving an emotional balance through detachment.

This in turn creates a remarkable calmness and a positive outlook, which also has tremendous benefits on the physical health of the body.

Practitioners of yoga talk about a unification of the body, mind and spirit acquired through practicing the yoga exercises and techniques.

One of the fundamental beliefs that yoga practitioners share is that the mind and body are a unified structure. This structure can find its harmony and it can heal itself when given a proper environment. Many doctors recommend yoga for helping a wide variety of health conditions.

Yoga is not a recent philosophy and has been practiced for thousands of years. Studies have been done in order to establish the areas in which people can obtain health benefits by an extended practice. The information obtained suggests that yoga may impart improvements in physiological, psychological, and biochemical health.

From the physiological point of view, prolonged yoga practices can help pulse rate, respiratory and blood pressure dysfunction, contribute to stabilizing the nervous system, normalize gastrointestinal functions, normalize endocrine function, increase joint range of motion, increase endurance, enhance energy levels, increase immunity to diseases, improve cardiovascular efficiency, improve eye-hand coordination, reaction time, dexterity skills, depth perception, sleep, and more.

The studies of psychological benefits suggest that yoga can contribute to enhancing somatic and kinesthetic awareness, self-acceptance and self-actualization, social skills, well-being, as well as improving concentration, memory, attention, mood, learning efficiency, symbol coding, etc.

As for the biochemical benefits of yoga, there have been reports of decreases in glucose, sodium, cholesterol, total white blood cell counts and increases of vitamin C, total serum protein, and hemoglobin. Studies have also revealed that yoga exercises are effective at increasing joint flexibility and lubrication of joints, ligaments and tendons. Another interesting aspect has to do with the fact that yoga is one of the very few techniques which contributes to massaging all the internal organs and glands. This includes the glands that are hardly ever stimulated in this way, such as the prostate. The stimulation and massaging of the internal organs proves to be beneficial when it comes to preventing disease.

These ancient and efficient techniques ease the detoxification of the body. While stretching the muscles and performing a thorough massage, yoga ensures the optimum movement of blood and fluids that your body needs. Consequently, toxins are eliminated from your body and certain undesired processes, such as aging, can be delayed.

All the benefits presented above come in addition to the most important aspects provided by yoga practices; the harmony and synchronization between body and mind, strengthening your meditation and balancing your emotions.

The BENEFITS OF YOGA are truly unlimited. Here are a few! * Increased Flexibility – yoga has positions used by various joints of the body including those joints that we are unaware of or haven’t been used for other forms of exercise. * Increasing Lubrication of the joints, ligaments and tendons – likewise, the well-researched yoga positions exercise the different tendons and ligaments of the body.

A body which may have been quite rigid starts experiencing a remarkable flexibility in even those parts which have not been consciously work upon. Through research using yoga positions, proof is evident. Unrelated simple yoga positions (asanas) act upon certain parts of the body in an interrelated manner. When done together, they work in harmony to create a situation where flexibility is attained relatively easily. * Massaging of ALL organs of the body – Yoga is perhaps the only form of activity which massages all the internal glands and organs of the body in a thorough manner that hardly get externally stimulated much during our entire lifetime. Yoga acts in a wholesome manner on the various body parts. This stimulation and massage of the organs in turn benefits us by keeping away disease and can provide warnings at the first possible instance of an onset of a disease or disorder.

* Decrease in Weight by performing simple asanas and meditation. Once the body is in a constant state of movement (however slight through your yoga practice), including your breathing techniques, metabolism is heightened. You will lose minimal weight without changing your habits, yet the benefits of increased flexibility and decreased stress, you will feel better as a whole.

* Complete Detoxification – By gently stretching muscles and joints as well as massaging the various organs, yoga ensures the optimum blood supply to various parts of the body. This helps in the flushing out of toxins providing nourishment for the entire body. This leads to benefits such as delayed ageing, energy and a remarkable zest for life. * Excellent Toning of the Muscles – muscles that have become weak or slothy are stimulated repeatedly to shed excess flab & increase tone.

Many studies have been conducted to determine which areas will benefit from an extended practice of yoga. Yoga practitioners are most likely to see improvements in the areas of physiology, psychology, and biochemistry. Furthermore, practitioners of yoga speak of a unification of the body, mind and spirit achieved through the practice of yoga exercises and breathing techniques. But, of course, that is a bit difficult to test scientifically.

Yoga Is An Ancient Way of Life

Yoga is not a recent development. It has been practiced for thousands of years, during which time people have greatly benefited from it. 1 of the fundamental beliefs shared by yogis is that the mind and the body are a unified system, which in a proper environment, can find harmony and self-healing.

Demonstrated Health Benefits

Many doctors consider yoga to have therapeutic results, and recommend it for several illnesses and conditions, mainly related to the nervous system.

From the physiological point of view, extended yoga practice can benefit: – pulse rate – respiratory problems – blood pressure dysfunctions – help stabilize the nervous system – gastrointestinal functions – endocrine function – the range of motion in joints – endurance – energy level – immunity to diseases – cardiovascular efficiency – improve eye-hand coordination – reaction time – dexterity – depth perception – sleep – etc.

Yoga’s psychological benefits include: – enhanced somatic and kinesthetic awareness – self-acceptance – self-actualization – social skills – well-being – concentration – memory – attention – mood – learning efficiency – and more

As for the biochemical benefits of yoga, tests have shown improvements in: – glucose – sodium – cholesterol – total white blood cell count – vitamin C – total serum protein – hemoglobin.

Deep Organ and Joint Stimulation

Various studies revealed that yoga exercises are extremely effective at increasing joint flexibility, and at lubricating and strengthening the joints, ligaments and tendons. Another interesting finding is that yoga is one of the very few forms of exercise capable of massaging all the internal organs and glands. This includes organs that are rarely stimulated, such as the prostate. The stimulation and massaging of the internal organs proves to be extremely beneficial for health.

Elimination of Toxins

These ancient and efficient yoga techniques also provide a thorough detoxification of the body. Stretching the muscles and performing a complete yoga workout acts as a massage, thereby ensuring the optimal blood supply to every organ. Consequently, toxins are eliminated from the body and certain undesired processes, such as aging, are delayed.

All of these remarkable health benefits are available from yoga practice. What are you waiting for? Let’s go find a yoga school!

The practice of Yoga has been used for centuries to promote a sense of physical and spiritual well-being. Although the origins of Yoga are shrouded in mystery, it is generally accepted to have begun at the dawn of civilization some 5000 years ago. A number of respected scholars have suggested that Yoga grew out of the shamanistic culture of Mehgarh, located in the region now known as Afghanistan. In fact, many facets of Hindu culture have their roots in Mehgarh.

The principle goal of the practice of Yoga is to assist practitioners in the transcendence of the human condition. It was an attempt to discern the order of the cosmos, and to apply those principles to daily living. Yoga has been linked to the Indus-Sarasvati civilization, which was one of the oldest and most advanced of the ancient cultures. This civilization also gave birth to some of the oldest scriptures ever discovered in modern times. The Vedas are considered by many as a form of divine revelation, and contain many references to a higher power and to the practice of Yoga.

On the physical plain, Yoga has shown incredible promise in treating and managing many illnesses. The practice of Yoga has a number of physical benefits for practitioners. It facilitates flexibility, and assists in the lubrication of joints, tendons, and ligaments. Many of the poses and positions work to massage the organs, thus stimulating the body’s detoxification process. The physical benefits of Yoga are often considered secondary to the spiritual development. Yoga has the incredible ability to bring into harmony the physical and the spiritual elements of the individual experience.

Meditation also plays a significant role in Yoga. By combining intense meditation with specialized physical exercise, practitioners are able to achieve a unity of body, mind, and soul. The intent is to create a sense of balance and harmony, both internally and externally. The emotional calmness associated with meditation works to reduce stress, which is considered by many as one of the root causes of physical illness. The primary goal of Yoga is to empower the individual to transcend the physical world and to achieve a sense of enlightenment or self-realization. For those interested in understanding and fully realizing the oneness of all things, a commitment to the principles and practice of Yoga will undoubtedly unlock the secrets of the cosmos in all their wondrous glory.
